Rockland Community College
Adjunct Faculty Association

Welcome to the Rockland Community College Adjunct Faculty Association (RCCAFA) Website.  It is hoped that you will find this website informative and helpful, and that it will provide a long overdue and much-needed connection for all adjunct faculty colleagues.

The RCCAFA represents all adjunct faculty colleagues, including adjunct classroom instructors, part-time adjunct librarians, part-time nursing instructors, and part-time science lab instructors, to continually improve our professional and economic status, as well as working conditions.  The RCCAFA is a local chapter of the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT), and is affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT).

If you are a part-time instructor at Rockland Community College, it is very important and beneficial to get involved with the RCCAFA.  Please attend meetings and become informed as to what is happening at Rockland Community College, and learn how you can get involved to make your job and our institution a better place.

On this site, you will find information about the Shane Burd Leadership Scholarship, as well as a copy of our Constitution and our current Contract (covering 2003 - 2008).  We are currently in the process of negotiating a new contract, which will be retroactive to September 2008.  You will also find announcements of our General Membership Meetings, which are held semi-annually during the fall and spring semesters. These announcements will also be sent to you via the Rockland Community College email system, and will be posted around campus.  Be sure to keep an eye out for them.

The RCCAFA Office is located on the Main Campus, Academic II, First Floor, Room 2107.  The telephone number is (845) 574 - 4336.  Please don't hesitate to call if you have any questions or problems you wish to discuss, or if you just wish to speak with us, as we would like to get to know you and your academic needs.

We have made great strides in the last fifteen years, improving salaries and conditions of employment.  We have begun to achieve greater recognition for our professional service to the Rockland Community College Community, and we continue to work hard in pursuing your goals.

We look forward to getting to know you and learn of your needs through this medium.

In solidarity,
The Executive Committee
Howard Schuh, President
